By intersecting the historic „Carerr dels Enamorats“ with the grid development characteristic of Barcelona, an „odd block“ with a heterogeneous urban silhouette is created. The site is bordered on two sides by contrasting atmospheres, with the outer walls of a former development preserved. This serves as the starting point for a communal residential building. The space formed by the existing structures becomes a climatic retreat that becomes an adaptive public living room. The walls of the residential building respond to specific situations in the environment and invite appropriation through their variable form, with light finding its own way between canyons and gaps.
