In the middle of Vienna’s fifth district, numerous cultural and creative uses are clustered around the Filmquartier at Helga-von-Pankratz-Platz. The design by Nicolas Herresthal and Lukas Hertwig adds a central meeting point for creative professionals – the MediaHub. A cafeteria, bar, rooms for media production and processing as well as temporary living quarters are spread over a total of seven floors. Despite the triangular floor plan, the structure takes on the linearity of the surroundings and mediates between the lively street space and the quiet inner courtyard. The theme of vistas defines the switchable floor plans and the vertical development, which creates a space of tension with versatile visual relationships.
