NEW PRAXES, NEW TOOLS
Emerging Slovenian and Austrian architectural practices

Thu 06.10.2022 TU Wien ● Karlsplatz 13 ● Festsaal
Presentations: 18:00 – 21:00 ● Pop-up exhibition: 21:00 – 24:00
Moderation: Tina Gregorič, Matevž Čelik

The aim of the event is to highlight the work of contemporary Slovenian and Austrian architectural practices, which are interesting for the way they approach architectural topics and tasks. Nine Slovenian and ten Austrian architectural practices will be presented, which started their independent professional work in times of global financial and climate crises. The crises have led to shifts in thinking about the tasks of architecture, a rethinking of the connection between architecture, society and ecology, as well as the way (architectural) practice is organised.

Through a series of short statements, the selected practices will present their ways of working, elaborate positions on the tasks of architecture today and demonstrate their approaches towards communicating current architectural topics with the general public.

The discussion will be moderated by Tina Gregorič and Matevž Čelik.

The event is organised by Tina Gregorič and Jakob Travnik and is a joint collaboration between the Technical University (TU) Vienna, Slovenian Cultural Information Centre (SKICA) Vienna and the Centre for Creativity (CzK) at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) Ljubljana.
